A web series that celebrates the beauty of brain development. Five episodes narrate in a simple yet visually effective way, the five major steps of this marvellous process. The key and distinguishing feature is the use of ART as an analogy.
The Brain is a fascinating mystery. It is that special part of your body that makes you move, think, feel… in one word, live. How does such a complex thing develop? How are billions of brain cells born? How do neurons connect into complex circuits? These are only a few of the questions addressed in 5 unique and unconventional episodes, where statues, monuments and cities are used as benchwork to talk about basic brain research.
Every time we communicate a message we need to find a good balance between facts and emotions. The first ones are the pure pieces of information; the latter are stories, analogies or experiences that work as means of transportation for the facts.
We truly believe that brain development is a beautiful journey, a story that deserves equally beautiful analogies to fascinate and capture people's attention. Our choice fell on Art, thanks to its inspiring visual impact.
We are taking a big risk: stepping away from the typical scientific documentary we are used to, where scientists are shown in their comfort zone, wearing lab coats, and presenting science as they usually do. This is exactly what we did not want to do: we changed the location, the dress code, and, most importantly, we removed any types of 3D animations or scientific textbook schematics. The biggest risk we took was the complete revolution of the scientific language.
The passion for Science, the love for Art, and the knack for storytelling: these are the key ingredients of our web series.
That's why we brought together a fantastic team of scientists and videomakers, to make the dream come true!
