the SERVANT
OF TWO MASTERS

TRADITION - IMPROVISATION - MASKS

The Commedia dell'arte (or Italian Comedy) was one of the first forms of professional theater, originating in Italy in the 16th century. The actors played stereotypical social types, such as the servant, the merchant or the doctor, each characterized by a well-defined costume, mask and behaviour; on the contrary, the show was completely improvised, based on a rough description of the plot called "canovaccio". "The servant of two masters" ("Il Servitore di due padroni" in Italian), by Carlo Goldoni, was originally a canovaccio, but soon acquired a detailed script by the end of the 18th century.

12 angry man

CONFLICT - PREJUDICE - POINT OF VIEW

"New York, 1954. Murder. Twelve jurors are called to decide the fate of a young man accused of patricide. There is no doubt. Every single piece of evidence is against him. Sitting around a table, they prepare to render their verdict: guilty or not guilty?

In the jury room, prejudice and objectivity collide with force. "12 Angry Men" is a film by Sidney Lumet and Reginald Rose released in 1957. The director skillfully played with the camera, changing shots and thereby altering the point of view. On a stage, this is more complicated but not impossible. We reproduced the same camera movements by building the scene on a rotating platform, offering a new perspective each time and guiding the audience's gaze into the heart of the story.

the LITTLE SHOP
OF HORRORS

MUSICAL - POP - PUPPETS

"On the twenty-third day of the month of September, in an early year of a decade not too long before our own, the human race suddenly encountered a deadly threat to its very existence. And this terrifying enemy surfaced, as such enemies often do, in the seemingly most innocent and unlikely of places."

"The Little Shop of Horrors" is a cult black comedy musical about a hungry, but marvelously singing, carnivorous plant. It was our teenage dream to bring a Broadway-style play to the stage of a small town in Italy, including the gigantic carnivorous plant!

DRAMA CLASSES

TEAMWORK - COACHING - MOTIVATING

From 2007 to 2013, I organized drama classes for kids and teenagers at Comunità Pastorale "Santa Teresa Benedetta della Croce" in Lissone, Italy. My goal was to create a safe and conducive working atmosphere where participants could feel free to experiment, try, and make mistakes without feeling judged by anyone. This was the starting point for training kids and teenagers in the basic rules of acting and preparing a final performance for the public.
